The Ten Commandments

Hello, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

The other day I was attending a prayer meeting at the church I attend. At the end of the meeting, one of the attendees said we needed to get the Ten Commandments posted again in church. Here in the United States having the Ten Commandments posted in government locations has been a challenge, even though it is a historical document.

Later, I thought about it, and I realized that I have been falling short. I agree wholeheartedly with what the other gentleman said, but I realized that as a Christian that I could not tell you what they were off the top of my head. How could that be? God gave them to Moses to give to the people. These were God’s rules, and I should have them memorized. Yet, I could not tell you what they were.

My memory isn’t great, but I planned on memorizing these. So, I searched for a memory technique online. It turns out there are several of them, but the one that works best for me is on YouTube. It is called “Memorize 10 Commandments – Street Interview.” I will post the link below.

Let me know if this helps you. It has helped me memorize them.

Thanks, and may God bless you,

Ray

Proclaim: 1 Peter 2:9

 PROCLAIM

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”1 Peter 2:9, NIV

Today at Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, we were blessed to have Pastor Steve Disher bring the message. He preached from 1 Peter 2:9 and spoke about our calling to proclaim the goodness of the God who brings His people into the light. It was a powerful reminder of who we are and what we are meant to do.

Hearing that message stirred something in me. I don’t want to simply listen, smile, and go on my way. I want to take it to heart. God has been amazing in my life. The more I embrace our Father’s love, the more He shapes me. My patience has grown. My love for others has deepened. My hope and joy for the future are secure. Being brought into His light brings peace that the world cannot give.

So today, I want to proclaim His goodness. Our Father God is amazing!

If you haven’t accepted Christ as your risen Savior, I beg you to reach out to Him. He offers peace beyond understanding. Come and be part of His holy nation. Your presence is desired, and His arms are open.

Thank you and may God bless you abundantly,

Ray
